Premises

New architectures colonise the post-industrial space and they can not be commonly bond to the soil, since the latter has been damaged, polluted. The new architectures have to be up-lifted outposts, conceiving the time of wait and redemption for the land. As the lift step-dance, the new stilts-architectures foresee the new lands’ replacement. The palafittes or the water-spiders are suspended at a special height that enables the soil to be curated and to hold only essential activities. The project parts with the legacy of the industrial landscpae, waits for its cancellation: a reset to avoid compromises, to find the coordinates of other possible geographies.

Provisions

The projects will be developed by the physical production of models at different scales in order to achieve the progressive definition of the new architecure. A specific scale step will translate the model into a design piece and it will be shown in an exhibition with the aim to re-generate the built objects. An instructions book will be the storyteller of all the experiences and thoughts. Marghera’s overground space will be told and illustrated through a sequence of photomontages of the new sought landscape.

Presupposti

Nuove architetture colonizzano lo spazio post-industriale e non possono avere rapporto tradizionale con il suolo perché questo è compromesso, inquinato. Le nuove architetture devono essere avamposti sollevati dal terreno che costruiscono un tempo dell’attesa, della “cura del terra” e di redenzione. Come nel lift, passo di danza, le nuove architetture sono poste su trampoli aspettando la predisposizione di nuove terre. Le palafitte o i ragni d’acqua si attestano a una quota tale da permettere che il suolo possa essere curato e custodiscono solo attività strettamente necessarie. Il progetto rinuncia all’eredità del paesaggio industriale, ne attende la cancellazione: un reset per evitare compromissioni, per trovare il tempo e il luogo di altre geografie.

Predisposizioni

L’elaborazione dei progetti procede attraverso la produzione di maquette: uno scaling progressivo guida la definizione dell’architettura. Uno dei passaggi di scala racconterà anche la traduzione della maquette in oggetto di design e sarà materiale d’esposizione per dare una seconda vita agli oggetti costruiti. Un libro in forma d’istruzioni d’uso restituirà l’esperienza e i ragionamenti sottesi. L’inserimento delle proposte sopra il suolo di Marghera è controllato attraverso fotomontaggi che in sequenza raccontano il nuovo paesaggio cercato.
